Organization, there is no other option.

Hunting down needed items and data leads to not only inefficiency, but increased stress levels. Although hard to lead in practice, this is and should be on your top 10 list.

stressed out - need time management and organization

Writing this article has become a struggle, even though I have this on my top 10 list, I do not lead my life by this strategy as much as I should. I find myself staying on top of organization and doing well, a relapse happens! I do have some good steps to take to help in this process. Do as many as you can and add more when you find yourself more comfortable with you current organization tasks.

  • Open your mail!
They sent it to you, you might as well open it.Deal with you mail on a daily basis and treate it with importance, don’t let it stack up. Open all mail daily, file or dispose of unneeded mail.
  • Address your desk problems in blocks of time, and make time for it.
You may be able to straighten out the clutter in a few hours, or you may need a weekend. Sometimes it’s better to devote a couple of hours a day to the job until you’re done.
  • Keep organizational items on hand
Here is a start to a list: trash can, pens, paper, labels, folders, paperclips.
  • Don’t overwork yourself.
If you are finding that you are working so much that there isn’t enough time in the day to complete your administration and organizational tasks, its time to cut down your amount work. I know this is hard to do; this is the area I stumble in and find that organizational tasks are soon to follow.

As you have noticed, many of the articles on this site do not give personal reference within them. This topic is one that I feel I work on daily and try to find ways to be better with. The key point of this section is to show that you need to stay on top of the not so fun organizational tasks. Working yourself to hard, or letting organizational tasks slide may seem like a great short term plan, but it never seem to work for the long run.

Over working yourself and becoming unorganized will not lead to success of any type. In the end you will be an overwhelmed person that explodes with stress when they can find their car keys. I know we all have been there at some point.
